Adrian Pepe participates in Sharjah Architecture Triennial

Crafting an immersive pneumatic encounter, fiber artist Adrian Pepe, based in Lebanon, pushes the boundaries of the human-animal relationship and emphasizes the delicate nature of biological existence.

The site-specific installation, “Utility of Being: A Paradox of Proximity”, is  staged within the Old Slaughterhouse of Sharjah,  conceived from the gathered pelts of the fat-tailed Awassi sheep — a byproduct of the slaughtering process.  The installation comprises pneumatic tubular forms echoing the visceral lines of animal entrails.
