Through her artistic practice Muromtseva explores new forms of existence within the hierarchical social and cultural systems of society. She is interested in the narrative where scholarly and artistic imagination overlap, envisioning the possibility of revitalizing historical narratives, reconfiguring methods of exhibition display, to share the means of production with other artists, and the possibility of actual solidarity.

Muromtseva grapples with the question of how to navigate political artistry under authoritarian regimes without resorting to direct aggression, instead employing social empathy expressed through painterly and sculptural forms. Her primary focus lies in large-scale paintings, videos, and shadow installations, all rooted in historical contradictions. The interviews with representatives of various social groups are the starting point for most of the works.
